Hello Learner's. How are you doing ?. Hope everyone is doing good. Today we are going to learn about how to draw a textures on Spherical Surfaces.
As we know that we can draw any shape on cylindrical faces but not on any other irregular faces, with the using of Wrap Tool.
I found a trick for this, and it is for visualizations only and maybe it works for manufacturing also. It is up to you guys.
Steps to draw :
Method 1 :
- 1. Open the part studio. Select a place and draw and circle as shown in the video.
- 2. Do revolve tool and make the sphere.
- 3. Now offset the front plane. Select the plane and draw the text sketch what you want in the sketch. Make sure it coincides with the sphere circumference.
- 4. Do extrude the text sketch and remove the material of the sphere like make cavities as shown in the video.
- 5. Open the tool bar and select the " Fill " tool. Now select all the edges of the cavity as shown below. Do the same to all letters.
- 6. Now again select the " composite part " from the tool bar. Select the sphere and all surfaces and make sure tick on "closed body option".
- 7. At final the body and texture on it is ready as like a single part.
Method 2.
- From 2nd step. Draw another cylinder sketch as the same length of diameter of the circle.
- 3. 3rd step is same as previous one.
- 4. Now use " wrap tool". Select the sketch and target body as cylinder. The surface of sketch will form on it.
- 5. Now select the faces of the sketch. Use " Thickness tool " and increase thickness of the sketch. In that select " remove" and " merge will all " option in the popup. And ok it.
- 6. Now do the same of 5th and 6th step as previous method.
- 7. Then final part is ready with texture.
The difference between two methods are about accuracy.
