Halloween Pumpkin | Design Tutorial In Onshape

Today's tutorial is about CAD Model Design for Fun. You will learn how to make Halloween Pumpkin in Onshape using simple tricks.

Doing fun with CAD gives some excitement for the engineers. For some fun work i designed this and also with the tutorial.

Steps for Pumpkin :

  1. Draw the sketch and draw the sketch as shown in the tutorial.
  2. Do the revolute operation in one direction with an angle of 30 degrees. ( Here you can take any angle as per your wish.
  3. Now do smoothen the sharp edges using the fillet operation as shown. First for inner edge and Second fillet for outer edges.
  4. Select the circular pattern tool- in that select the part and put the count to 12. Because i took 30 degrees angle of each part, so for complete circle i used the count ( 30 degrees*12 = 360 degrees).
  5. After the pattern do boolean all the parts into one part. as shown. ( Do patiently, because it takes time for boolean of 12 parts at a time or else the parts will be deselected.)
  6. Now the face of pumpkin is need. I drawn an random sketch as you seeing the pumpkin now. You can draw more scary or your own image and extrude it to remove the part of pumpkin or means of make a cavity. 
  7. Do some coloring to the pumpkin as per your wish. Now the Halloween Pumpkin is ready.
